Cybereda Launches Analog Debug Design System: Find and Fix Bugs 10X Faster

Debug automation for analog circuits now available

San Jose, Calif. — June 9, 2010 – Cybereda, a Silicon Valley startup, announced Analog Debug Design Systemâ„¢ (ADDS), a software tool for faster detection, and repair of bugs in transistor circuits for analog, mixed-signal and digital designs. With its extensive signal-tracing, analysis, and reporting capabilities, ADDS delivers a 10X breakthrough in designer productivity. Cybereda is exhibiting at booth # 164 at the Design Automation Conference at the Anaheim Convention Center, Anaheim, Calif. from Monday, June 14 through Wednesday, June 16.

ADDS addresses the lack of automation tools for finding and fixing bugs in transistor-level designs. Circuit debug relies on labor-intensive manual methods to trace the causes and discover the sources of design mis-behavior. ADDS provide a wide range of features and capabilities to automate debug and improve speed of repair. ADDS technology is the subject of three pending patents.

Benefits and Features of ADDS

  • Full-signal traceback quickly shows the sources and causes for a specified circuit error and isolates that portion of the circuit that needs to be fixed.
  • Automatic test case and test fixture generation for exploring the behavior of a suspect circuit or sub-circuit.
  • Automatic checkpoint for restart of simulation, just before mis-behavior becomes active, to eliminate time wasted on unnecessary simulation.
  • Circuit checks for detecting floating and undriven nodes, unitialized latches, and exceeding reliability limits and user design margins.
  • Tight integration to PCSIM for 10X faster simulation of analog circuits
  • Graphical user interface for quick manipulation of circuit schematics, device and component parameters, and PCSIM analog simulator controls.

ADDS takes full advantage of Cybereda’s PCSIM parallel SPICE circuit simulator. PCSIM is a full-featured, HSPICE and SPECTRE compatible tool that delivers sign-off-level accuracy. Engineered for easy adoption within existing design tool flows, PCSIM accepts standard SPICE files and produces waveform and analysis data in standard formats.

CK Lee, President of Cybereda, said, “With over 40 years experience in transistor-level simulation, our team understands the critical need for a new-generation circuit analysis and debug solution. Unlike digital designers who have highly automated design and debug environments, analog designs have been using manual methods to trace signals, build test fixtures, and needlessly re-run simulations. There is an urgent need for better and faster automation for debug of transistor-level circuits. We strongly believe that designers can experience a 10X breakthrough in bug repair with ADDS and its patent-pending technology. Our message is clear: Why wait? – The right design can be had in hours not days.”

Availability and Pricing

ADDS will be available for general release Q3 2010 on Linux based PCs in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. Pricing depends on configuration. Contact Cybereda at support@cybereda for more information.
